📊 Why is my translation progress at 0%? (And how long does it take?)

If your document's translation progress remains at 0% in Redokun, here are common reasons and how to address them.


1. 🛠️ No Built-in Translation Services

Redokun facilitates translation workflows but doesn't provide human translation services.

Options:


2. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 No Translator Assigned

Ensure that a translator has been assigned to the target language.

To assign a translator:

  1. Navigate to the Document Detail page.
  2. Locate the target language in question.
  3. Click on the three-dot menu next to the language.
  4. Select Assign Translator and choose the appropriate collaborator.

3. 📩 Translator Hasn't Accepted the Invitation

If a translator hasn't accepted their invitation, they won't have access to the document.

To check invitation status:

  1. Go to the Document Detail page.
  2. Look for a warning icon next to the target language, indicating a pending invitation.
  3. If needed, remove and re-add the translator to resend the invitation, or contact them directly.

4. 🔄 Revision Upload Reset Progress

Uploading a new revision may reset progress for segments with changed context.

To handle revisions:

  1. Upload the new revision via the Manage Document menu.
  2. Redokun will retain translations for unchanged segments.
  3. For segments with altered context, previous translations will appear as suggestions.
  4. Review and confirm these segments in the Web Editor.
