Workspace access timing for Project Pass

Your Redokun workspace access will start immediately after you purchase a Project Pass.

To make the most of your 30-day access, we recommend preparing the following before purchasing your Project Pass so your team has enough time to complete the translations.

  • A list of translators to invite: You will need the email addresses of the translators you want to add to your workspace.
  • The source documents you want to translate: Please note that the maximum upload file size is 100 MB per file. Make sure your files are within this limit before uploading.
  • Glossary entries (optional but recommended): Project Pass includes 25 glossary entries per language pair. If terminology management is important for your project, we recommend downloading our glossary template found here: Download the Glossary template and prepare glossary entries for each language pair in advance. You can read more about what the Glossary is here.

Please note that workspace access cannot be reset once the Project Pass is purchased, even if no documents have been uploaded.

Usage allowance of your Project Pass

Project Pass includes several usage allowances to help you complete your translation projects quickly and accurately.

  • 30,000 Downloadable Words

Downloadable words are counted based on the source document’s word count. You can upload documents totalling up to 30,000 source words.

Words from all language versions count toward the total. For example, if your source document is 10,000 words, and you translate that document into French and Italian, and then download the French and Italian versions, you will consume 20,000 downloadable words.

If you need to translate more than 30,000 words, you can purchase additional downloadable words for a fee by contacting support@redokun.com.

  • 25 Glossary Entries per Language Pairing

With Project Pass, you can create glossaries (your custom dictionary per language pair), and add up to 25 glossary entries per language pairing.

Creating a glossary helps improve the accuracy of technical terms and brand-specific terminology in your documents. While using a glossary is optional, we strongly recommend creating glossary entries if your documents contain technical, product, or specialized terms and expressions.

Learn more about how to create glossary entries in Redokun here and download the glossary template here.

  • 5 Document Credits

Document credits are used when you download translated documents. Multiple language versions of the same document count as one document.

For example, if you upload one document and translate it into five languages, downloading all five translations will count as one document credit.

If you need more than five document credits, you have two options:

  1. Upgrade to a monthly or annual subscription plan
  2. Purchase another Project Pass after the first one expires

Note: If you purchase another Project Pass, all credit counters will reset with the new pass. This means that if you want to download a document you previously downloaded with an earlier pass, you will need to use a new document credit.

If you need to work on more than five documents at the same time, we recommend upgrading to a subscription plan.

The data retention policy for your Project Pass

Your Project Pass allows you to use the Redokun workspace for 30 days.

Here is what happens after your workspace access expires:

  • Your Project Pass allowances, such as document credits and downloadable words, will be reset to zero.
  • Your documents will be locked and become non-editable.
  • Your account and data will be deleted 60 days after your Project Pass expires.
  • If you purchase another Project Pass or upgrade to a monthly or annual subscription within those 60 days, your previous documents will become accessible and editable again.
  • Once you reactivate your account, your documents can be edited and downloaded again, but you will need to use your new document credits and downloadable words allowances to do so.

Project Pass is designed to support teams with one-off translation needs. If you have ongoing translation needs, we recommend considering a monthly or annual subscription plan

FAQ

I currently have a subscription with Redokun. Can I buy a Project Pass?

If you are a current customer with a Redokun subscription plan, you cannot purchase a Project Pass unless you delete all documents in your workspace. Please contact support at support@redokun.com if you wish to proceed with data deletion.

What are document credits and how are they counted?

Document credits are used when you download translated documents.

Multiple language versions of the same document count as one document.

For example, if you upload one document and translate it into five languages, downloading all five translations will count as one document credit.

A 50-page technical manual and a 2-page product sheet both count as one document.

What if I need to translate more than five documents?

The Project Pass includes five document credits. If you need more, upgrade to a monthly or annual Basic or Premium subscription for unlimited document uploads. You can upgrade at any time without losing your progress. Alternatively, you can buy another Project Pass after the current Project Pass expires.

How do you count downloadable words?

Downloadable words are counted based on the source document’s word count. You can upload documents totaling up to 30,000 source words.

What is AI pre-translation?

AI pre-translation is the quickest way to generate draft translations using AI. If you create a glossary, the AI translation will take your glossary entries into account to ensure those terms are translated accurately.

For best results, we recommend creating glossary entries if your documents include technical terminology. You will need to set up your glossary before running pre-translation.

Can I choose which AI translation engine is used for pre-translation?

With Project Pass, the AI translation engine for pre-translation is automatically selected by Redokun. ChatGPT is used by default; if it is unavailable for that language, DeepL will be used, and if DeepL is also unavailable, Google Translate will be used. It is not possible to manually select a specific translation engine.

Can I extend Project Pass before it expires?

A Project Pass cannot be extended before it expires, but you can upgrade to a monthly or annual subscription plan at any time. When you upgrade, you will keep all your Translation Memories, Glossaries, and project progress.

Alternatively, you can buy another Project Pass after the current Project Pass expires to continue working on projects.

Note: If you buy another Project Pass, all counters will reset with the new pass. This means that if you want to download a document you downloaded with a previous pass, you will need to spend a credit again. If you need to work on more than five documents at the same time, we recommend a monthly or annual subscription.

What happens to my documents after Project Pass expires?

After 30 days, your account becomes read-only. You can view your work but cannot edit or download translations.

After 60 days of inactivity, all documents and data are permanently deleted.

To keep working and preserve your data, upgrade to a monthly or annual subscription before the 60-day mark or purchase another Project Pass when the current one expires.

Note: If you purchase another Project Pass, all counters will reset with the new pass. This means that if you want to download a document you downloaded with a previous pass, you will need to spend a credit again. If you need to work on more than five documents at the same time, we recommend a monthly or annual subscription.
