📂 Getting started as a Manager (Upload & assign)
Welcome! This guide helps you get up and running in your role as a Manager on Redokun.
You’ll learn how to align with your team’s setup, manage key settings, invite collaborators, and start your first translation project.
✂️ 1. Choose the best segmentation method
Before uploading your first document, choose the segmentation method that best fits your team's goals:
- Paragraph Segmentation: Better AI translations. Ideal for internal teams or casual translators.
- Sentence Segmentation: Better reuse with Translation Memory. Ideal for professionals or vendors.

❗ This is an account-level setting, so make sure to check with the Account Owner to understand which segmentation option has been enabled. For the best results, all managers should follow the same choice.
To view or change the segmentation setting:
- Click on your name in the top-right corner and select Settings.
- Go to Segmentation.
- Choose Paragraph Segmentation or Sentence Segmentation.
2. 🔧 Activate country-specific languages (optional)
Redokun supports regional language variants (e.g., English (UK), Portuguese (Brazil)). Enabling this lets you assign translations with greater precision and control.
This is also an account-level setting, so check with the Account Owner to see if this has already been activated.
- Click on your name in the top-right corner and select Settings.
- Go to Languages.
- Check Enable country-specific languages.
- Click Save.
📚 3. Create a Glossary to standardize translations and guide the AI
Glossaries ensure consistent terminology across all your documents. They help both AI and human translators use your preferred terms from the start.
✅ Why contribute to or initiate a Glossary?
- Improve brand and technical consistency
- Reduce translator uncertainty
- Boost AI accuracy
Ask the Account Owner if a Glossary is already being created. If not, suggest they set one up so the whole team can benefit.
You can:
- Add terms manually
- Share an Excel template with your team and import it back into Redokun

👥 4. Invite your translators to the platform
Check if the people you normally collaborate with are already in Redokun. If not:
- Open Settings > Translators to invite people to translate or proofread.
- Assign them to the languages they usually work with so they can be added to translation tasks..
They’ll receive an email with instructions to activate their account.

🚀 5. Start your first translation project
Once your account is aligned and your team is ready, you can start your first translation project →
