π€ Exporting Translation Memory
You might need to export your Translation Memory (TM) for various reasons:
- To use a different translation tool
- To share with a new translation vendor
- To keep a backup of your translations
Redokun allows you to export your TMs in both TMX format and Excel format, so you can choose the one that works best for your workflow or tools.
β οΈ Only users with a Manager role can export Translation Memory. Translator accounts do not have permission to perform this action.
π How to Export a Translation Memory
- Navigate to the Translation Memory section at the top of the screen in Redokun.
- Locate the TM you wish to export.
- Click on Download next to the desired TM.
β Tip: The downloaded ZIP file includes both a TMX file and an Excel file, each containing all confirmed translations for that specific language pair.
π¦ Bulk Export Multiple Translation Memories
To export multiple TMs at once:
- In the Translation Memory section, select the checkboxes next to the TMs you want to export.
- Click on Download all at the top of the table.
ποΈ Deleting Imported Translation Memories
You can delete TMs that were manually imported using a TMX file or the Excel template:
- Navigate to the Translation Memory section.
- Find the TM you wish to delete.
- Click on the three-dots icon next to it and select Delete.
β οΈ Note: Deleting a TM is permanent. Ensure you have a backup if needed. Deleted data is non-recoverable.
However, TMs created while translating documents cannot be deleted directly. To remove them:
- You must delete all documents that contain the translation you want to remove.
- Only then will Redokun permanently delete the associated Translation Memoryβunless the same translation is reused elsewhere.
Alternatively, if you'd prefer not to delete documents, you can hide unwanted suggestions from appearing in the Web Editor or being used in the Pre-translate. Learn how in this guide: Update and manage your TMs.
β οΈ Warning: Deleting documents is irreversible and removes all associated data.
