How does Redokun deal with InDesign layers?

Redokun imports all the content inside the spreads from all layers in your InDesign document. At the moment, there is no way to filter by layer.

What can you do if you have a document with multiple layers?

Assuming that you have one layer per language and a separate layer for all graphic content, a workaround would be to:

  1. Delete all language layers except for the one containing the source language.
  2. Upload and translate the file on Redokun.
  3. Once translation is complete, download and open the translated file. Then, rename the layer accordingly (e.g. “English”).
  4. Use our copy-layer script to copy the layer into a "master" file that will contain all layers or languages.
