🔐 AI Translation Vendors and their data policies
Redokun integrates with trusted AI translation vendors to help your team work faster—without compromising on data privacy.
✅ What Happens to My Data?
When you use AI translation in Redokun (e.g., Pre-Translate or Web Editor suggestions), your content is temporarily sent to a third-party translation engine. These engines are used only to generate the translation.
All of our providers explicitly state in their Terms of Service that:
- They do not use your data for training their models.
- The content is used exclusively to return the requested translation.
Most of our providers do not store the content you send.
However, for providers like OpenAI, your content may be securely retained for up to 30 days to deliver the service and monitor for abuse. After 30 days, API inputs and outputs are deleted from their systems, unless they are legally required to keep them longer.
🤝 Current AI Providers and Their Terms
Redokun currently integrates with the following providers:
-
Google Translate (Google Cloud Translation API)
-
DeepL Pro
-
ChatGPT by OpenAI

⚙️ Can I Disable AI Suggestions in the Web Editor?
Yes. By default, Redokun automatically loads AI translation suggestions in the Web Editor to help speed up your work. However, if your team prefers not to use AI suggestions during translation, you can disable this feature.
To turn off AI suggestions in the Web Editor:
- Visit the Advanced Settings page in your Redokun account.
- Locate the option “Load machine translation suggestions”.
- Uncheck the box to deactivate suggestions in the Web Editor.
This setting only affects in-editor suggestions. You’ll still be able to use Pre-Translate with AI translation, if it’s available in your plan.
🔒 Can I Disable OpenAI (ChatGPT) Completely?
Yes. If your team prefers not to use OpenAI (ChatGPT) at all, you can switch it off for your entire account. Unlike the Web Editor setting above, this disables all OpenAI functionalities across Redokun, including Pre-Translate.
To disable OpenAI:
- Visit the Advanced Settings page in your Redokun account.
- Find the AI features section.
- Turn off the OpenAI (ChatGPT) functionalities toggle.
- Click Save.
Once disabled, no content will be sent to OpenAI from any part of the platform. Your team can still use other translation engines such as Google Translate and DeepL, depending on your plan and settings.
