🌍 Bulk edit target languages and translators

This guide explains how to add new target languages or update existing ones in multiple documents at once using Redokun's bulk actions.

✅ When to Use This

Use this feature when you want to:

  • Add the same target language(s) to several documents.
  • Update or assign translators for an existing language across multiple documents.

This helps you manage teams and projects more efficiently, especially in large translation workflows.

🔐 Who Can Use This Feature?

Only users with a Manager role can add or update languages in multiple documents at once.

Translators do not have access to this feature.

➕ Add or Update Target Languages and Translators for Multiple Documents

This action is only available when selecting individual documents. You cannot apply it to folders — this prevents accidental changes to large sets of documents, especially when folders contain subfolders and many files.

  1. Go to your Document List and browse to the folder containing the documents you want to update.
  2. Select the documents you want to update by ticking the checkboxes on the left.
  3. Click Add target languages in the toolbar at the top.

  4. In the pop-up, search and select the target language(s) you want to add or modify.
  5. Assign translators to each selected language.
  6. Click Add languages to confirm.

🔄 Your changes will apply across all selected documents. Double-check your selections before proceeding.

🔁 What Happens When You Apply This Action

  • If a selected document does not already have the language:
    • The target language is added.
    • The assigned translators are added.
  • If a selected document already has the language:
    • The existing translators are updated and replaced with the ones you've just selected.
